How many people are citizens of the US? Is it 400,000,000? So that means 6% of the population works for the Fed? And that doesn’t even include the companies like Northrup Grumman and others that work at/for the government basically. Insane.
We took the kids to Washington DC five years ago.
Walking along and the one entire block is the US Department of Agriculture building - four stories high or something.
We had done a lot of driving (NY, NJ, Valley Forge, Delaware Crossing, Philly, etc.) and saw lots of historical stuff from the Revolutionary War and the founding of our nation.
“So kids. Do you think our Founding Fathers ever imagined that our government would have a huge building like this filled with thousands of people just to tell farmers how to farm!?”
Of course D.C. is full of similar buildings.
