Joe Biden on Thursday night returned to the White House after a trip to Louisiana to tout his $4 trillion infrastructure plan.
The president spoke earlier in Lake Charles in front of a 70-year-old bridge that is 20 years older than its intended lifespan.
The bridge is part of Interstate 10, a critical east-west artery for transportation and commerce in the heart of the country's energy corridor, connecting Houston to New Orleans, a route lined with petrochemical refineries.

The “proper” investment is exactly what we invested. It was decided by governments at all levels. If people wanted more, they would have elected different people.
Who the hell does he think he is deigning to say what is “proper”?
Of course, being a communist, hardly any of the money will go to roads and bridges.
For half a century? So would that include the Peanut Farmer,BillyBob and Osama Obama?

Calling BS. Any bridge has an infinite lifespan if maintained.
It is not that we have not spent “enough” in the last fifty years. It is what exactly we have spent too much on over the last fifty years, instead of what we could have done with the same money over the last fifty years.
First, too much “infrastructure” spending has too much pork generally. Second, too much infrastructure IS pure pork in terms of wrong priorities based on who in Congress can get infrastructure spending bent in the direction of their home jurisdiction versus what would the real unbiased objective priorities be. Three, too much in the infrastructure budgets, since the Clinton years, have been diverted to items that belong in other budgets - bike paths, “beautification” projects, “wildlife bridges”, and the ever wasteful “mass transit” which has only a few states to whom that is a top priority & it belongs to those states to fund it. Fourth, a big part of infrastructure building can be done privately with government help on big private ventures (eminent domain land access), government partnerships, and bonding paid out of future user fees.
And Biden’s spending ignores all of that. It’s just designating some trillions for infrastructure without solving what is wrong with the infrastructure priorities, AND worst off all his plans insert “equity & diversity” political mandates in every square inch of his “infrastructure” proposal.
The biggest long term impact of Biden’s infrastructure proposal is not infrastructure at all. It would under law permanently tie all federal infrastructure spending to the Dims identity politics agendas - inserted at every penny of infrastructure spending. If you thought the EPA’s insertion into infrastructure plans was a big deal, you will see it is tiny compared to the politics to be inserted by DOT the federal “equity & diversity” lawyers.
For decades states have been diverting the funds for roads and bridges to social welfare programs, like caring for illegal immigrants, welfare, free medical, unemployment extra benefits, etc.
The refineries that Biden is doing his damnest to close down. He’ll pledge to rebuild their I-10 corridor but those plants will close.
Everything in Louisiana is falling apart because our state Dems spent 50 years fleecing every project.
I wonder if the bridge made a good audience because hardly any of his 80+ million “supporters” showed up to listen to the old fart.
I live just a few miles away and wouldn’t crap down the lying, cheating POS’s throat if he was starving to death.
Um, the government can’t invest.
It has an Income Statement, but no Balance Sheet.
The Plan: Lies, lies, and more lies.
And, that redirection has been mandated by gov’mt Aholes like BeijingBiden. I am really surprised that he is not explicitly endorsing the CCP’s Road&Bridges (or whatever it is called) program. Odds are that most if not all of his infrastructure crappola will route money to the CCP — after their minions here in theUS have skimmed.
I also live in Lake Charles. The lake and bridge did create a beautiful setting for the current occupant of the White House to use for his attempt to con us into believing that his tax and spend plan will be good for us and for the nation. Don’t think so!
I could have sworn hammerhead was the VP when Obola claimed to “invest” nearly a trillion dollars in “infrastructure.”
Trip to Louisiana to tout his $4 trillion infrastructure plan.
Huey P Long triple taps box.
