I think in 2024 DeSantis should run for president with Trump as vice-president. Trump could be in charge of the border, the economy, and the swamp. He might actually be able to get more done in that role since he could be more focused and the left's attacks would have to be split between DeSantis, who I'm sure would be a great conservative president, and a very active and effective vice-president.

All during his vice-presidency Trump and DeSantis should say Trump is planning to run for president again in 2028 with DeSantis as VP. He'd be eligible since he's only served one term as president. He doesn't have to actually run, he'll be getting old, so he might not want to do it, but just holding that over the Dems’ heads for 4 years would be worth it. Plus, DeSantis is young enough to run again for president in 2032.
