In New York, I’ve heard that some Democrats are privately miffed at Ocasio-Cortez. The redistricting could eliminate her current district, and force her to run against another Democrat in a new district, for her to stay in Congress.

But some say she might go for broke, and challenge Chuck Schumer for his Senate seat in the primary, when Schumer is up for re-election.

That’s not how it works. What will happen is that when redistricting happens, two sitting Republican Representatives will find themselves in the same new Congressional District. This will happen in all of the democrat-controlled states that lost a seat. You can count on it.
