Would like to see the US do a “Berlin airlift” delivery of vaccines. (Even better, of treatments- but there are so few and so little of them.)
I don’t know though, I have the impression that getting a vaccine when infected risks cyclostine (sp?) storm- not sure about that. But, if so, would be very risky with the state the med system is in there now.
Budesonide and steroids are the treatments they recommend for those who can’t access the medical system there.
The cytokine storm is a hyperinflammatory state, due to excessive immune response.
It was a serious problem with earlier attempts to make coronavirus vaccines out of whole virus (in response to the SARS outbreak, over a decade ago). That technical approach was abandoned as inherently unsafe.
None of the authorized vaccines (none of which use whole coronavirus) have shown that risk - and it was specifically checked for in testing.
