I've had a really major incident here.....
A computer crash that probably set some kind of record in the computer world....
I'm posting here today on a 15 year old laptop that I've managed get up and running albeit painfully slow.....
Needless to say, this old laptop doesn't have most of my files for posting at FR...
I'll be getting a new machine this week and I'm pretty sure I can "rescue" my two hard disks from the old machine....
As I said, this old laptop is so slow it is painfull to watch.....I won't be posting a lot till I get a new machine....
Just wanted to let everyone know what's up with my situation here....

WOW! I'll bet that feels like watching molasses flow. This one I'm on goes back to 2014, so I kinda feel your pain. Hope you are able to salvage and transfer everything you need from the old to the new.

This site affords us the ability to read (most) articles without the need to be lambasted with advertising. The type of advertising that makes some online media unusable. A lot of this media is good but really annoying to use. You never see adds on fr because fr is funded by donations and we need more of them. I'm a capitalist that hates adds. Go figure.
I'm not a man of means so to speak, but I'm able to donate $50 on a monthly basis. I know this site is free to use for anyone, but ask yourself the question, where else can you go and get like minded commentary for free? Of course nothing is truly free (apart from the gospel). These folks have overhead. If it makes you feel better, know that they aren't getting rich off of your hard earned money.
Please consider donating on a monthly basis. A buck a month....Anything!
