Well, the enthusiasm for the vaccine might improve in states like Illinois IF the government talked about removing the mask mandate after a threshold of vaccinations are administered. With all of the talk about “you have to wear a mask anyway” that can sway undecided people to avoid the vax in the first place. If they really wanted to eliminate the COVID threat AND the vaccine works, the best way to get people to voluntarily get the vax is to provide a reward, not more of the same.

If they really wanted to eliminate the COVID threat AND the vaccine works, the best way to get people to voluntarily get the vax is to provide a reward, not more of the same.

And then when they get what they want, which is convincing people to get vaccinated, they could just renege on the reward and go back to forcing masks on everyone. Who would stop them? Certainly not the keyboard warriors here and the patriots.

Illinois just opened up the vax for people under 65 last week. I live in a downstate metro area and got the first jab today. I had to drive 25 miles to a bedroom community drug store to get it, so it seems to me people are in line to get it.
