Interesting parallel - start a new NCAA to compete with the established one, just like starting a new political party to compete with or replace the Republicans.

And the real underlying problem is that there is too much money in college sports. From what I understand, the love of money is the root of all evil.

SO if there is a new competing NCAA, it needs to go back to the basics; end the football season on Thanksgiving weekend, limit basketball to 25 games, no more redshirts, no football or basketball championship tournaments, no acceptance of betting pools and connections with Las Vegas, and no more deals with Nike. A place for amateurs to play for fun. Let the NFL and NBA start their own minor leagues.

But if you are talking about another clone of the current NCAA, what's the point?

Agree !

But where would alumni drive their SUVs to, to party, relive their college years & embarass their spouses during the fall?
