And it was Prince Philip who planned his own funeral and the Queen approved before he died. Couple interesting facts....the Jeep his Coffin was carried in Prince Phillip designed himself....and the Horse and Buggy was there, with his gloves, blanket and cup laying in the seat was because he use to race.
It was truly a perfect funeral service which reflected Prince Phillips taste and what he wanted. I got pretty tearful when they showed all the military with their heads bowed very low and their guns positioned downward...it was very fitting for Price Phillip....a remarkable man who served Britain and the Military well.
wasn’t it Peter Phillips who walked between Harry and
William in procession - and a converted Range Rover that Prince Philip converted to a hearse?
Peter Phillips, Princess Anne’s son, is who walked between William and Harry, not Andrew, their uncle. Peter is their first cousin and the Queen’s oldest grandchild.
The hearse was a famed English brand, Land Rover, not an American brand Jeep.
The Duke of Edinburgh title will pass to Prince Edward, the youngest of Prince Philip’s sons, but not until the death of the Queen—not to Prince Andrew, who has been permanently sidelined from “working Royal” status.
Props are due to the video production director that seamlessly produced the stream using the many fixed video cams, handheld cams from different angles and vantage points with outstanding zooming in for sharp details. All of the still photos used by news services are screenshots from the video.
Was able to spot only 3 camera positions.
Best viewing is the original source on the Royal Family youtube channel without any commentary...1:22:40 long. The utter silence but for the cannon salutes, bell tolling and sounds of the mass band give the sense of being there...worth watching for the reverence shown.
Prince Charles inherited all of his father’s hereditary titles, including Duke of Edinburgh.
It is expected that a new (fourth) creation of the title will be bestowed on Prince Edward after the current (third) creation “eventually reverts to the Crown”, when the current holder, Prince Charles, becomes king.
