White House adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci told MSNBC on Sunday it's "still not" acceptable for Americans to eat indoors, even after they've received the COVID-19 vaccine.
His comments come after he and other government experts have seemingly moved the pandemic goal posts for some time now.
"Drinking indoors, restaurants, and bars. Is that OK now?" host Mehdi Hasan asked the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director.
"No, it's still not," Fauci said. "For the simple reason that level of infection, the dynamics of infection in the community are still really disturbingly high."
Fauci said there were 80,000 new infections recorded on Sunday, whereas the number had been hovering around 60,000 to 75,000 in recent days.
"If you are vaccinated, please remember that you still have to be careful and not get involved in crowded situations, particularly indoors where people are not wearing masks," he said.
Some viewers and social media users took Fauci’s advice and said they plan to avoid indoor dining, but exasperated critics are fuming that Fauci is prolonging shutdown measures. Some fear he may be discouraging people from getting their shots because it doesn’t sound like life will return to normal if they do.
"Get off the airwaves," former NFL quarterback Matt Leinart tweeted.
Former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows linked to the clip and said Democrats had "zero intention of giving back their newfound control, even if you're vaccinated."
"He's doing harm at this point," Fox News contributor Guy Benson tweeted about a similar interview Fauci recently gave.

Wrong on both counts. Do just a little research. Not just a little, but plenty of data already available. Israel is a good place to start.
You are in an experimental clinical trial that no one has the data to see if it works. That is why they are telling you not to change the mandates.
You can't see if it works if you don't change the mandates...therefore it makes zero sense to do what Fauci suggests. If everyone is just going to stay at home even after getting vaccinated there was zero reason to get vaccinated even if it is the best vaccine ever created. It can't prevent infection rates of a population who just stay at home and do nothing and never go out into the world. He's clueless on public policy and apparently loves being on camera.

In reality, this phenomenon is probably happening everywhere, but those are the ones making the news now.
Given the reasons above (and what's below), maybe this doesn't surprise you, but bummer if you thought the vaccine was a shield to keep you safe.

My favorite was him at a Nats game last year. Only him, wife and some dude allowed in because he threw out the first “pitch”. Wild throw that went 15 feet and massively curved left!

I've read far too many accounts of people being vaccinated and dying right away from Covid-19. Why can't you see the problem here? Why were they given a vax if ill with Covid. People who had Covid the week prior, people in hospice car, people who are seriously ill with other ailments are all given the vax and so many reports talk about rapid decline/death. And you think that bolsters your side?
If you believe “their” numbers.
Anyone else getting the “have you been vaccinated yet?” from conversations with friends and acquaintances? Every time I gou out someone I run into asks that question.

My understanding is that even the 567k is inflated because of those who really died of something else.
