I know some older local musicians who’ve had a tough time with it and “friend of a friend” reports about several other older musicians who died from it (with news reports, not rumors).
but these are the outlier rare cases I’ve heard about.
A friend’s mom in her 90s was hospitalized and recovered.
Someone else I know (50) was sick (with symptoms like a bad flu) for a week and stayed home (did go to work, didn’t go to the hospital).

That is a very sad story.
I wonder if some ambulance chasing lawyers might get rich if they find a document that showed the government knew about the possibility of mask related infections.
A free country would allow its citizens to choose. I living in NY and am not free to chose without penalty of law. May mask is only on when I enter a store that requires it. It comes off in the store when there is no one near me.
That’s just wrong.

Doubtful anyone is culturing viruses in high school biology. Bacteria, yes; viruses, probably not. Viruses don’t grow in a medium the way bacteria do. In fact they don’t really “grow” at all, but instead are manufactured by your body’s cells and emerge fully formed.

Masks are the control test that worked. We made them do this now let’s make them do that
There are only one of two conclusions that can be made for continuing wearing masks after vaccination:
1. The vaccine is a total fraud or
2. The wearing of masks is for reasons of government social control not disease prevention or public health
Do not wear a mask and tell them you are part of the control group testing mask effectiveness.
Not all masks are unprotective. You can for modest money acquire virus rated N99 or P100 filters for fitted masks that have independent third party verification of effectiveness against challenge aerosol virus tests. Those filters ABSOLUTELY will protect the wearer against an aerosol virus. The eyes are still a vector if half mask respirators are worn here again effective PPE is easy to get foam sealed glasses used for chemistry lab work will keep 100% of droplets or aerosols from getting to the eyes. So spewing a blanket statement that all masks are worthless is completely false. One must have the proper PPE that is fitted to them it’s not hard it all that expensive to get to near complete aerosol protection.
From whom did you take biology from they failed you. Virus cannot grow on surfaces a virus requires a live host with active living cells for RNA or reverse DNA replication. Any infection would be bacterial. A virus can retain viability in a surface for a limited amount of time depending on the temperature humidity and light levels but a virus cannot “live” on a surface it is only a package of RNA surrounded by a protein package that’s it , the virus has no life process on it’s own it must have living cells to replicate in.
