He supported Trump when his audience revolted
He’s not a never-Trumper; he was one of the first to support his candidacy. He did make several mistakes in 2016 believing polls, though (particularly so-called “negatives”), as well as misinterpreting things Trump said as being in support of big government spending.
His current big minus is that he still won’t acknowledge that the entire GOP has been taken over by the left, including lost “hopes” like Ted Cruz and Mike Lee.
I’ve heard him use the word “neoconfederates” all right, but not as a blanket reference to all in the South.
