Is anybody else surprised that the state can bring it civilian lawyers as attorneys of record for the prosecution in a criminal case? I sure was. I had no idea that was permissible.

certainly many states sub out to plaintiffs attorneys in civil...but agreed...to do this on criminal is sort of weird
