Massive overdose on top of severe heart problems

Which is why his drug dealer says he'll take the fifth, he know he gave him a lethal dose. He should be the one on trial.

Floyd’s friend was supposed to be a key prosecution witness. Because his lawyer notified the Prosecutor that his client would not testify, the prosecution won’t call him as a witness.

That does not prevent the defense from calling him. Once Floyd’s friend asserts his 5th Amendment right to the first question, he will have to assert his 5th Amendment
right to every question even if he would like to answer some of them. Chauvin’s attorney can ask a whole string of questions that will not be good for the prosecution. Many of those questions will relate to Floyd’s past drug usage and on the day of his death.

The prosecution has a large team of prosecutors, many of whom seem determined to have their 15 minutes of fame. Most of the prosecution witnesses have very little interest way of substance to testify about.

Chauvin’s attorney is doing a very good job, especially considering he is going against a large team of prosecutors.
