Apple CEO Tim Cook criticized Georgia's new voting law in an interview with Axios published on Thursday, joining a growing number of CEOs who have condemned the new measure, which is seen as making it more difficult for Black people and other minority groups to vote.
"The right to vote is fundamental in a democracy. American history is the story of expanding the right to vote to all citizens, and Black people, in particular, have had to march, struggle and even give their lives for more than a century to defend that right," Cook told Axios.
The Georgia voting legislation was signed by Gov. Brian Kemp (R) last week. The laws limit the use of ballot drop boxes, create new voter ID requirements and prohibit people other than poll workers from giving food and drink to voters standing in line at polls.
Democratic lawmakers have accused the GOP-backed bill of being a direct reaction to the recent Democratic victories in Georgia during the 2020 elections.
Kemp and Republicans have said the effort is to make sure voting is done legally, and that people have identification to vote. They have criticized the media coverage as biased and unfair.
Political pressure has mounted on businesses in Georgia such as Coca-Cola and Delta, which both criticized the law this week.
"Let me be crystal clear and unequivocal, this legislation is unacceptable, it is a step backward and it does not promote principles we have stood for in Georgia, around broad access to voting, around voter convenience, about ensuring election integrity, and this is frankly just a step backwards," Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey said.
Major League Baseball is hearing calls to move this summer's All-Star Game from Atlanta.
"Apple believes that, thanks in part to the power of technology, it ought to be easier than ever for every eligible citizen to exercise their right to vote," Cook added. "We support efforts to ensure that our democracy’s future is more hopeful and inclusive than its past."
What an ignorant a-hole.
Next time I renew my LTC (license to carry) and have to have my prints and photo taken, can I claim racism and oppression?
Playing out his obligatory homo role. Asshole.
Apple, it is easy.
You show up at Poll. Show your ID and vote.
Simple.
Issa is also an asshole.
So you cannot buy an iPhone without a government issued photo id:
https://www.apple.com/shop/browse/home/formsofid
but apparently, according to apple, it is racist to require an id to vote.
There should be broken glass in front of the voting booths that you have to crawl through to get inside.
the real leaders of the country speak
Two faced a-hole!. “ Voting should be easier than ever” So should buying an Iphone. But Apple requires an ID to buy one. They only want white people to have the iphone because blacks can’t operate a computer or get an ID..
And ironic.
What good is Voter ID when software can be used to steal elections?
Funny...Apple never mentions THAT.
Yet you need a photo ID to purchase an I-phone.
The “image’ of the Left as an honest political wing in the USA has been driven by the media.
Since 1984 the control of media outlets has dropped from over 50 different organizations to just 6 today. The product of that consolidation is an ILLUSION of a “powerful Left wing”, a manufactured progressive consensus that has usurped political power it has no business with honestly. “honest” votes for Biden/the Left were 30-35 million. At most.
The problems originate in corrupted, local electoral precincts in deep Blue urban centers. These NEED to be cleaned. Nobody desires the dirty job. Part of “redistricting” projects, BTW, is to create regions and social environments permitting unfettered and unhindered electoral Fraud.
Think parts of cities where Republicans fear to tread. No bipartisan voting observers. If any Republican observers, or even voters show up,they are threatened. This is the beginning process of turning a Red state Purple.
This article provides a glimpse into exactly this process going on in Philadelphia in 2009

There are more of “us” than “them” A whole lot more
Its all kayfabe. Its what they want you to believe, its what they want you to “feel”

What the left has done, ever since the 1984 Reagan-Mondale blowout - (and Mondale was a “moderate” Democrat!) - is to start electoral fraud programs in the largest states to turn them from Red-to-Purple-to Blue. They realized they had no future otherwise. It started in California and New York.
This last election cycle local Texans managed to turn it around at the precinct level-their RINO Governor not withstanding.
Extreme involvement in your local precincts and making sure paper balloting on ELECTION DAY, with hand counts and recounts in a transparent fashion and setting with open audit trails available to the general public, among other measures-are key.
Its dirty, tough work and initially confrontational with the existing perps. As the above article illustrates, it will be dangerous. But it beats the heck outta the alternatives -which are bearing down like a runaway freight train
The left has focused on corrupting our local electoral process. They focus on the deep urban centers. This process of corruption is very active presently in Georgia, using Atlanta as its base, the last 2 election cycles. This process is seditious.
We the People have no future otherwise. These people INTEND to “rule”
The benefits of this process created the UniParty which is WHY this has been allowed to mature.
I have been voting since 1980.
I have never been hard for me.
Registering wasn’t hard. I showed up with my SS card and my drivers license.
When I moved it was the same process.
Voting is easy. You find out were to vote. Typically it is advertised. Mailed to you. Posted in Post offices. County offices. Municipal offices. County websites. Voting day is always the first Tuesday after the First Monday in November. You show up (in Ohio anyway) between 6 AM and 7 PM with a ID sign in and vote.
Why should it be any easier?
I am totally against mail it voting and absentee voting should be very limited and you should have to justify your need for absentee voting.
...that buyers need a driver's license or state issued ID to BUY an iPhone is unacceptable?
...that buyers need a valid credit card to buy their iPhone is unacceptable?
...that iTunes users have a valid account to download licensed music?
...that members of their corporate board have valid identification in order to vote is unacceptable? or can any illegal or fake person vote in Board meetings?
If having proper paperwork is unacceptable to Apple, they'll have no problem if someone uses their copyrighted software without their permission.
Apple CEO Tim Cook is nothing more than a mere HYPOCRITE.
I guess no laws are necessary
So easy, even a dead person can do it?
Throw it back in their Face! Pass a simple law:
Any resident of Georgia that can articulate a reasonable suspicion that a company, business, corporation, person demanded, asked for or required any form of Identification other than that which is necessary to Register to Vote or Vote in a Public Election, Shall be Entitled to damages equal to but not less than the maximum monetary award in civil small claims court.
