If history has taught us anything it’s that a power vacuum will be filled quite quickly by anyone that’s opportunistic enough to see the situation and use it to their advantage. Although it seems we’re not being told anything about what is going on behind the scenes I would bet a large sum of money that there are people maneuvering and scheming to fill the vacuum 24/7.
The prestige - "face" if you like - the Chinese gained through this embarrassing thrashing of a U.S. team stupid and naive enough to believe its own political propaganda was carefully considered - they could have eaten their lunch quietly and gone off chuckling, but they didn't because they knew they didn't have to. "America is back" meant to them that the sucker had returned to the table to be fleeced once more - why hide it? China feels that they own the U.S. government because they do.

The Biden Junta’s fecklessness and lack of presence on the world stage is going to end up killing us. If nothing else, the rest of the world will see little problem with replacing the US Dollar with some currency basket as the World Reserve currency. Once that goes through, we’ll be done as a superpower.
