In 2016, my dad, Charlie Garcia — a third-generation Mexican American and lifelong Republican — supported Sen. Ted Cruz in the GOP presidential nomination contest. Recently, he recalled that, of the 17 candidates who ran for the Republican nomination in 2016, “Trump was my 17th.” Toward the end of the election, I remember him saying that he would “hold my nose and vote for Trump.”
But by this past November, something had changed. As far as I can tell, my dad voted while breathing through his nose as clearly as somebody could when wearing a face mask. Not only did he enthusiastically support Donald Trump, he gave money to the Republican National Committee. Though he has supported every GOP presidential candidate since 1980, he now contrasts them all unfavorably with Trump. “They can’t compare with what Trump has done,” he told me recently. “And some of the things that he came up with I said, ‘Oh man, why did you do that, Trump? That’s not going to go over well.’ And it turns out, my God, what a brilliant move! I had no idea. He’s just a master.”
A native of San Antonio, my dad spent much of his career working in sales; these days, he runs residential care facilities for the elderly in Orange County, Calif. His mother and father were born in the United States. My grandfather’s mother was likely born in France, but his father was Mexican while my grandmother’s parents were likely from Monterrey, Mexico. That mix of Mexican and American is why he calls me both “son” and its Spanish equivalent, “mijo.”
When I was growing up, we frequently watched Fox News (these days, like many conservatives, my dad prefers Newsmax); he regularly listens to conservative talk radio when he isn’t listening to classic-rock stations.

Looking at this percentages, there’s no mathematical way Trump list the popular vote, let alone the electoral college.
“those percentages” and “Trump lost.” Sorry. Autocorrect got me and I didn’t proof read.
Definitely Joe is the imposter (referring to the game "Among Us")
The Republicans could not be any more stupid if they tried, Trump has shown them the way to expand the party by attracting minorities and traditional democrats who have been screwed over by the current democrats...the current Republicans are going to throw it all away like they always have.
Many of us felt that way at first. Didn’t believe Trump was real. Trump proved himself in spades. Greatest president of my lifetime, which includes Ronald Reagan. I just wish he had the cabinet of Ronald Reagan instead of a cabinet infiltrated by a nest of vipers.
Sure there is.
The Democrat vote making machine created more votes in the critical swing states, so as to swing them to Biden.
Remember, Biden had negative tails. About 6% less people who voted for Biden, voted for the House member.
Exactly! And these numbers mean there was a lot more fraud going on than just a few suitcases of phony ballots in Fulton County.
Did anyone see that graphic that Nate Silver put together a couple months ago that showed how many states Trump would have carried if only men could vote? I don’t remember the exact number, but the map was a sea of red.
I’m not suggesting we should repeal 19A. But, when it was adopted, it changed the country in PROFOUND ways, mostly making people orders of magnitude more dependent on government. When that happened, government became increasingly more powerful and intrusive in everyday life. These two things are not disconnected.
The 19th will NEVER be repealed. However, that doesn’t change the fact that it was the worst mistake in the history of this country. (Tied with the establishment of the Federal Rsserve.)
Mathematical formulas do not include or take into account voting machines that can be hacked or vote manipulated nor do those mathematical formulas take into account idiots running vote ballots through a machine multiple times either. Just saying.
But as a whole, yeah, ‘mathematically,’ #notmypresident winning was like flipping a coin a hundred times and having that coins land heads up 100 times....’mathematically’ impossible.
“Looking at this percentages, there’s no mathematical way Trump list the popular vote, let alone the electoral college.”
Yes absolutely.
Washington Post doesn’t understand they are presenting evidence for the steal.
Wondering how many people subscribe to the Jeff Bezos WaPo?
While I would like to rea the article I will be damned to pay for it.

Other than Reagan, all of the rest of them were Bush League Republicans.
That's fine with them. Their figurehead is in the White House. What are we gonna do about it? That's right. Nothing.
Not just that, they are also going to run off the real conservatives.
All they will have left are the reflexive R voters who always vote R, no matter how bad they are.
Rah Rah Romney, Hail, Hail, Haley........../s
And yet somehow, basement candidate won. My rear end.
Correct. In a country that is not a banana republic where fakes votes get stuffed.
And somehow he lost.......NOPE!!!!
The election was a fraud with manufactured ballots which were the consequence of greatly loosened rules.
