To be clear, they didn’t say they weren’t involved, they just said they couldn’t find any records. Which is a dishonest way of ducking the question.

The gun-store incident occurred during the period after 43 year old Hunter got tossed out of the Naval Reserves for his positive cocaine test.....subsequent to his divorce from his first wife, Kathleen.
The gun incident began when Beau’s widow Hallie, living with Hunter, searched Hunter’s pickup, which was parked at her home in Wilmington, because of unspecified “suspicions she had,” according to the Delaware State Police report. Inside the truck, Hallie found a .38 revolver.
