Thank you Jimmy Carter for giving away the Panama Canal to the Chinese. We no longer have a military presence on the base.

Not to mention if they sent in 3 or 5 or 10 of these one right after another. A canal can be blocked for basically forever.

lol... That is a pathetic response! There is still at least 20 feet of ship stuck below that toys max reach.

Yes, I found this story, just written an hour ago:

“Suez Canal Suspends Traffic As Bid To Refloat Grounded Ship Hits Trouble”

https://www.ibtimes.com/suez-canal-suspends-traffic-bid-refloat-grounded-ship-hits-trouble-3169154

I don’t think it was fake news, but as you say, and overly optimistic Egyptian trying to mitigate the damage.

Now they’re saying it could take weeks, and the price of stuff will be severely impacted.

If it was a COSCO vessel the conspiracy theorists would be having a field day. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and a F-up just a F-up.

There is no helo that can pick up a fully loaded 40’ sea can.

Its proper name is an excavator.

I don’t think steam shovels—excavators powered by steam, with boilers and coal shovels—have been in use for the past 75 years.

There was a similar incident in the 1960s, when the Royal Navy’s last battleship, HMS Vanguard, was being towed out of Portsmouth Harbour, where she had been mothballed for years, to be broken up. Just as she was passing through the narrow harbour mouth, she broke free of her tugs and buried herself in the mud completely blocking the channel. As a result much of the Royal Navy’s Home Fleet was immobilised for several days.

Exactly. Even two ships in coordination can collide and scuttle. Panama Canal is even easier. Both canals will be shut until the Battle of Taiwan is over.

It isn’t so green any more. Not with all the fuel and pollution the rescue/salvage it’ll take.

Load it with Muslims because shiite floats.................

Unfortunately I doubt that type of shiite floats, You got to eat a lot of fat, (like Bacon) for your crap to float. And Muslims don't eat to much fatty foods like bacon and ham.

Its proper name is an excavator.

At the dealership it's an excavator.

At the jobsite it's a track hoe. ;-)

In one off the other topics about this, the size of this self-propelled barge was given as 400 meters length, 56 meters wide. That’s big enough to build a suburban cul-de-sac as long as one doesn’t go hogwild with the size of the yards. :^)

Many Navy ports are easily blocked as well. The Chinese are not stupid. I have had professional relations with them. They are highly educated, well trained, and very motivated. The average Chinese is a peaceful freedom loving entrepreneur. The 20% hard core Chinese commies are downright scary and want war. There is enough of them, like the liberals here in the US, that want destruction.

It’s coming. If I get invited onto Infowars today, it’s my topic.

The Chinese have a grudge against the West from the Opium Wars, gunboat diplomacy and humiliating “unequal treaties” on.....and now it’s PAYBACK TIME.

Our adversaries, Muslims and the Chinese, know their history. We’ve been dumbed down as a country by the Leftist-run education system and do not.

Another hot button for the Chinese is that if the USA strangles them economically so will Europe. That dooms them. They currently see that scenario happening. They need to doom us before we and the EU doom them.

Trump was on the right path: Equal and fair trade would enlarge the economy and benefit the US, China, Russia, Europe and all the world. China was on a doomed path before Trump as they were about to get globbered anyway.
