The parents had dollar signs blazing in their eyes.

The best thing for them to tell their son would be that he should have been doing the work that was required, when it was required, and ended it at that.

In elementary school, my nephew was a holy terror. My oldest sister was the emergency contact when they could not contact his Mother. When she got to school she found that XXxx was throwing an absolute fit in the Vice Principals office. It seemed that the teacher had taken his Pokemon cards and he wanted them back. The people in charge were mortified and frightened by his actions and were attempting to placate him while holding the line at not getting his cards back. Big Sis did what she did best, she told him to “KNOCK IT OFF” and continued with “you are inconvenience me and I will not hear another word” He meekly got into the car and got a 15 minute lecture on how wrong he was. Of course this was the complete opposite of what his Mother would do.

Today this young man of 28 is a pseudo female still abiding in mommies home, with walls full of holes from kicks and fists.

THAT is the fruit of giving children what they want.

You tell your child to SUCK IT UP, and add what my Dad would tell me. “Quit whining, life is tough, you have to be tougher”. The student would have learned a valuable lesson, respect authority.
