The spending amount is obscene on its own, but the real danger is the creation of yet another entitlement program: mandatory public Kindergarten. The Federal government should not be involved in matters that are clearly within State jurisdiction, but they always circumvent the Constitution by bribing the States: follow our mandates or you don’t get Federal money. It’s how the Canadian government has imposed federal prohibitions on private health care, by dangling billions with strings attached. The Democrats would love to have a unitary state and abolish the independence of State governments. The H.R. 1 election bill is another step in that direction.
