So “good stewards of society” is the primary mission, not defending the country as it was since the Revolution. The mil is being turned slowly into the some thing like the Waffen SS, but, initially at least, under CCP command and control until regular Chinese troops and civil police can be brought in during the next stage of the takeover.
My FRiend, you need to study the history of the Waffen SS. They were panzer(armored units).
