If this does release a lot of ash, it will affect climate around the world for several years, as the ash will have a cooling effect on the planet. But, thankfully, President Trump knew enough to prepare for this type of very predicable event and stayed out of the Kyoto Global Warming Treaty, because had the treaty been in force while this eruption took place, it’s very possible that we could drive the planet into a new ice age.
In any event, there will be global cooling, and Bill Gates will propose doing something monstrous to our own atmosphere to get things warmed back up.
