Ohhhh, what happened to Mark Steyn? He would’ve been my choice. I love Dan’s views, but cannot listen to his aggravated yelling. Makes my BP rise. I’m shocked that he is Rush’s replacement. Ouch.

He's just being moved into part of Rush's time slot
on certain media groups. Dumbongino is not replacing Rush.

I’m all for Mark Steyn. If I can’t have Rush, Mark is my top choice for making sense of the ongoing madness.
But rather than trying to fill Rush’s shoes by standing in them, I’d rather he had his own show that he can shape however he likes. I think he could be a tremendous talent like Rush, but I think his best path to that is to get out of Rush’s direct shadow.
I like Buck okay. I think he needs to work on being a better analyst. Likeable but a little too shallow.
Dennis had a run on radio. He had an opus on his show about how ineffectual just _talking_ about our nation’s troubles was and he didn’t renew his contract. He walked away from radio with money on the table (as I understand it) and I respect him for it.
He was right: a lot of people just want to grouse about it. The left has more folks than the right who are willing to donate time and elbow grease. They are better organized that way.
I agree. I think it is possible Steyn didn’t want the gig. The comparison between the the would be too direct and that’s a comparison no one but Rush could win.
Mark deserves his own show to make his own impression.
Dennis is doing podcasts right now. I find him very enjoyable, like a cross between W. F. Buckley and George Carlin.
I wish Ann Coulter had not torpedoed her own career, or she might have been considered. Like Rush, she is funny and witty, but has also become batty and inconsistent in her older age. She is a great legal researcher and assembler of facts into a thesis about a given topic, but is distressingly shallow about strategy, and whom she supports or hates at any given time. She’s at an age where she should have amassed more gravitas and dignity about her opinions, knowing when NOT to make a loony or obcurely sarcastic remark. Sad.
