Twenty Republicans joined Democrats to confirm Garland
Judge Merrick Garland will be the next U.S. attorney general after the Senate confirmed him with a vote of 70 to 30.
Garland received bipartisan support during his confirmation process from both Democrats and Republicans.
"Judge Garland's unshakeable commitment to serving his country is deeply rooted in who he is," Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., said after the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to recommend Garland's nomination. "He fundamentally grasps that America's greatness rests in our bedrock principles of justice and the rule of law."

Don’t confuse someone who’s playing stupid for someone who’s actually stupid. All those BS answers he gave during his hearing that asserted ignorance on elementary questions of law wasn’t ignorance at all. He was, get this, obfuscating, evading and lying. He knew if he answered those questions honestly, it would have been a 50/50 vote.
He knows EXACTLY what he’s doing.

According to Merrick himself, when pressed, he doesn’t know much about anything on a variety of subjects especially ones involving the law. Then again, what does he really need to know? Just like Biden, his opinions will be provided for him.

I think we’re done with voting until the Great Purge has run its course.

Republicans simply don't have the guts to play power games.
Garland should have been confirmed by a Harris tie-breaking vote, as all of Biden's nominees should.

Wait. If they confirmed him after business hours, it really wasn’t a confirmation.
Just like terrorism only happens on business hours.... according to Merrick Garland.

The Republicans love him and it was apparent with childish questions he refused to answer.
They need to shut down inquiries into the Biden Billions.

Yep. Romney, McConnell, Graham, Grassley, the usual gang of corruptosaurs. But also Cornyn. Texas must be proud.
Eh, not really surprising. What is surprising though is how little Cornyn's been on team RINO the past several months. Barely heard anything from him in the news!

Garland did not distinguish himself at all under questioning. This guy is a judge not a prosecutor, which - silver lining - works to our advantage. He reeks of Sessions cowardice. We could have done far, far worse. And now #Karamela is stuck with him.

LOL! No problem. We’ve all done searches with zip results only to find later that what we looked for was there.

Some of the comments in this thread are absurd. You judge a puppet state by what it delivers, serf. There used to be so many Freepers who understood this.
For those of you who watched football instead of this moron's confirmation hearings, he is Son of Mueller, yet...he has just enough hint of an ornery disposition to tell his Marxist staff to get stuffed. Again, a Sessions-style "please like me" doofus "well-respected by both parties harrumph, harrumph, cough cough".
We could have done so much worse: Pillsbury Stay-Puffed Booker and his dimwitted mendacity, or another jive turkey like Deval Patrick. Obama will not tolerate any Magic Negro (or Nero) competition, to his own comeuppityance.
As I noted above, Garland is now a Jill Biden-capture, and he will side with her when Pelosi presses for Xiden's removal.
