I think there’s a better strategy than “Primarying” Thune.
How about backing a real conservative in the Democrat primary? Conservative Republicans could cross party lines and join with Conservative Democrats to beat a left wing fanatic.
If it doesn’t work, and the left wing Dem wins, worst case - vote Thune back in.
Problem with the Primary strategy is that if it’s successful, Thune will either run as Independent, or his supporters will sit out the general, throwing it to the left wing Dem.
Thune took out Tom Daschle. For that we should be thankful. 2 terms. After that WE should have found someone else. Noem is a lady. She should stay home in SD. What’s left? I see no bench there.
