The Los Angeles archdiocese, which serves four million Catholics, reached a $660m civil settlement in 2007 with more than 500 victims of child molestation. The dioceses funded their share by selling church property, reducing staff and, in at least one case, soliciting contributions from priests and lay Catholics.
In California alone, financial settlements from decades-old abuse cases exceeded $1.8 billion after the statute of limitations was lifted for one year.
Maybe this is why they wish to bring in millions more immigrants from Catholic countries like Mexico and those in Central America, to help pay off this tremendous debt.
When “tolerance” replaces sound judgement based on principle, decadence, rot and ruin inevitably follows. Such rot and ruin has affected virtually all institutions where homosexuals are “tolerated”. Hint: Jesus did not “tolerate” the moneychangers at the Temple. He judged and took definitive action.
