My father and his brothers were all Eagle Scouts.
My brothers and I were all Eagle Scouts. As a kid I was surprised how little support my Dad provided toward that goal, but now I understand that he wanted it to mean something.
My sons are all Eagle Scouts, and they did it with as little support from me as possible. I made sure they understood what it meant and that they had transportation, but they did everything else.
My grandsons? Not a chance. Scouting committed suicide.

This is just another organization that molded young men into great leaders that was destroyed by the left wing. They are winning and we are letting them win.

My son got to do a lot of things that as a single father I didn’t have the wherewithal to do with and for him. He had some great life experiences in Scouting. I will always be grateful.
I got to be a Webelo leader for a couple years myself.
They destroyed something that meant a lot to me, and a lot to my son.
Don't forget the Young Man Christian Association (YMCA) that now includes girls. I'm not sure if it was a lawsuit or government forced. I was a member and had great experiences with boys my age at the camps, not to mention some basic skills I learned. Does the YMCA still exist?
Why can't boys be boys, and men be men without the distraction of girls/women who have a different nature and needs? I have hated Patsy Schroeder for years for killing the fun, stress relieving Tailhook Association symposium of Naval Aviators.
Some female Aviators get whacked on their fannies walking through a hallway (the Gauntlet) as do the males, and they whine, cry, and charge sexual harassment. End of fun at Tailhook by Schroeder and SoD Aspin. That was just the start of assigning women to combat ships, which hasn't worked out that well.
That one is very subtle, with the black kids having a white cat while the white kids have a black and tan dog. All the kids seem more curious than anything else.
What could go wrong allowing homosexual men to guide young boys. Why do does a pedophile man want to supervise in the Boy Scouts, because it’s where the boys are.
There was no force. They had a Supreme Court ruling on their side. It was all due to money. This whole thing with gays in scouting came from Robert Gates and Rex Tillerman. They were facing a loss of corporate funding from AT&T, Exxon, and others corporate politically correct companies, whose own perverse HR beliefs collided with the Scouts Oath, and if they didn’t put f@ggots in leadership roles, they would all leave...which the BSA should have let happened. They were already suffering from a serious pedofile problem from the 60-70’s and paid out tons of money to settle them. Thank God my kid eagled out the year when they made that decision and we left. Bunch of morons. Killed a great organization.
