I'm surprised the trial wasn't given a change of venue, but the prosecutor in charge is a name known nationally—or, at least well-known to FReepers: KEITH ELLISON...! As such, the jury pool is likely to be an "O.J." jury pool—with the desired outcome. The prosecutor will have a leg-up on a brighter political future—perhaps the first Muslim to be President. (Aside from O'Zero).
As I mentioned earlier, this first "try"—though found guilty—can be expected to be overturned on appeal.
I hung a jury once in a black on black crime. The blacks on the jury called called me a racist because I voted guilty. They cared more about the black criminal than the black victim. Eye opening
Oh. If I am ever on another jury I will use a fake name with fellow jurors.
My wife read me part of the account while I was driving the other day. Apparently he was complaining of breathing difficulties prior to becoming combative and being restrained. The report pretty much made it clear it was accidental suicide by drug overdose, with LE playing only a supporting/witness role. Doesn’t fit with the leftist anarchy agenda, so that will never be acknowledged in the MSM.
The pristine name of George "Druggie McDrugboy" Floyd must be preserved in the fantasy world of the mob - or Federal courthouses will be burned.
Yup, count on it.
The jury system developed by White people, it's unfair.
Everyone on that jury certainly knows it.
Chauvin walked in on a drug overdose in progress.
To have even a slight chance, the defense has to overcome the well-known video. Why not fight one video with others? Show a video of the very heavy lungs being weighed during the autopsy, and show video of Floyd repeating "I can't breathe!" BEFORE he is put on the ground.
Certainly, the trial should have been moved far from Minneapolis. I hope that can be the basis of an appeal. Chauvin might be guilty of something, but unless the toxicology reports were faked, he sure isn't guilty of murder.
This isn’t the jury of Mary Tyler Moore’s Minneapolis...
“ I’m still against him putting his knee on the back of his neck.”
Sure...he just should’ve shot him.
/sarc
” but what everyone saw with the video is a cop with disregard in his facial and body expressions. The officer was unengaged with what was happening to the citizen”
No, that was a cop surrounded by an angry black mob. He was watching them. In fact they contributed to his death by creating a dangerous situation, forcing cops to direct a lot of their attention to them.
Anyway, an unengaged look? That’s why you send a man to prison?
Get ready for more peaceful riots.
What’s the story behind that sign? Photoshop?
The therapeutic blood concentration is reported as 1 - 5 ng/mL and the "toxic" range is 3 ng/mL - so toxicity is in the middle of the therapeutic range. So along with the meth could have had toxic delerium. Sad.
Yes.
Photoshop.
Yep, time to go shopping for Easter.
Still funny. And true.
FWIW: He put on the same act during his prior arrest. There’s video of that available.
The obvious question that can never be answered is: “would George Floyd have lived had the majority of the officers knee-concentrated weight applied to his neck for 9 minutes not have happened.
That’s to keep them from bashing their heads off the pavement during a state of Excited Delerium
I would not want to be on that jury. My bet is AG Ellison overcharged the cop and at best a verdict of manslaughter or negligent homicide is all that might stick. A hung jury is also a distinct possibly. These lesser verdicts or a hung jury or outright acquittal will bring riots targeting downtown Minneapolis. Look for the same pathetic response from the mayor and Governor as last summer.
The inconvenient truth nomatter how ugly is that these cops are completely innocent. They may be guilty of bad policing but Floyd killed Floyd.Race had nothing to do with it. Let the animals burn their sh*t down.
