What a nice way to start the morning. I do quite well with sneakers from Costco...thank you.

When I was a kid the local grocery store had a big tub of tennis shoes out front. You’d dig through and find your size. Times have changed.

So he used her name and credit card, fraud as he is 19, and the company fires her. Now unless she was complicit in the scheme, why fire her?

Most recently, she has been responsible for expanding the company's direct-to-consumer strategy to encourage shoppers to buy directly from Nike's own stores and websites rather than relying on sporting outlets. Sounds like that is working.
So is the problem credit card fraud? Insider information? Employee discount misuse? From the article it looks like he only marked up the $132k purchase by $20k on resale, so he isn't making a gouging profit.

Must be nice to have a spending limit of $132,000 on a credit card.

I don’t have any credit cards with a $132,000 credit limit.

Outside of using a credit card backed by his mom I don't
know that she was that involved.

BTW found this interesting recent article on his business
https://www.bloomberg.com/features/2021-sneaker-investment/
"When I asked Hebert about the connection later that year, he acknowledged that Ann was his mother...He insisted, though, that she not be mentioned in the article and cut off contact not long after our conversation."

I haven’t worn sneakers in decades. When I see adults in sneakers (unless they are actually like on a basketball or tennis court or out jogging), I just shake my head. It’s a very juvenile look.

I collect shoes. Antique wood, porcelain, glass, and metal. The most expensive one I have is a 6 in. sterling silver pin cushion I paid $110.00 for and I thought that was a bit much at the time. Made in 1878 in NYC.
