Two communists get together on a work program...why am I worried?
Why would we even consider a Labor proposal from Mexico’s President?
The Bracero Program was an act between the United States and Mexico that took place during the World War II. With this act, the US and Mexico agreed that Mexican laborers can move in the US because of lack of labor force as lot of men were engaged in the war.
The Bracero program resulted in an increase in both legal and illegal workers coming to the United States from Mexico. Braceros would sometimes return to the United States illegally once their contracts ended, and employers were not held accountable for employing migrants who were in the country illegally.
Absolutely! Mexico doesn't have to take any risks nor responsibility for the worker...just send them across the border and they'll bring their earnings back to Mexico.
We wouldn’t.
But Deep State is champing at the bit.
They had a bracero program in the 1950’s whereby farmer associations had contracts with Mexican labor companies to supply farm workers and it seemed to work well. The workers came worked and went home to Mexico with their pockets jingling. Then came the unions and everything went downhill.
We don’t need 3rd worlders stealing jobs. F this...
What is the problem? The workers will receive $2 an hour and the mexican guberment will receive $13 an hour for management.
A work program without a path to citizenship makes perfect sense for both countries. Though not to our current President, who wants Dem votes in the future, not workers. Mexicans, Joe thinks welfare is what they want
“We don’t need 3rd worlders stealing jobs. F this...”
The bracero program of the 1940,50’s was strictly for farm laborers, no other occupations; and there were literally no US citizens available to work in the fields. The workers were brought in; they did their job; and were transported back to Mexico. Maybe there are citizens available now, but I doubt it. However, if the unions are involved in such a program - forget it!!!
Did you ever read "grapes of wrath". I don't think so.
“at the wages being offered”
Before being drafted and going to Korea, I worked for a year in 1950 for a company selling farm equipment in the massive California farming area. The bracero program I witnessed had the farmer associations providing the whole package - transportation to the job, housing, food, wages and transportation back to Mexico. I don’t recall seeing any families, just the workers. I did not see any unrest among the workers and by appearances they seemed well pleased with their status. This was before the refugee and migrant movement with big government hand-outs to lure them in.
SO what those jobs were for Americans.
He should talk directly to Joek’s puppeteers.
wondering what the united farms workers will say about this??
