I’m actually not opposed to people doing that here myself, but there are others here who have made it their mission in life to criticize and make an example of anyone who doesn’t post the full text from a blog.

The issue isn't posting excerpts from a blog. The issue is when you post excerpts to YOUR blog. You wrote it, you have rights to it, no reason to not post it here as well. Or you get bots like w1n1 or that new 19fortyfive guy that post a bunch of short excerpts, and never respond to anything. No comments, no conversation, no articles from other sources, nothing but posting short excerpts to drive hits to their blogs...
