Totalitarians move around. They always select the path of least resistance, affording the most power the fastest. In Orwell’s time Communism and Fascism were the most attractive ideologies to tyrants. They still are but are rebranded variously as democratic socialism due to the other two being well-known venues for tyranny.
I’m pretty sure contemporary Orwells are similarly against democratic socialists. You can tune in to them daily on talk radio. They are creative, insightful, entertaining and decidedly against tyranny.

People on one “seen as good and kind” side of politics don’t really understand that their ideology is as good as ANY to abuse and get hordes to fall in line for power plays from totalitarians. Whatever ideology is influencing the most people is the easiest one for a tyrant to glom onto and use to get what they want. Any questions which ideology would be the easiest to corrupt and control the most Americans within 2021?
