The U.S. House version of the “American Rescue Plan Act of 2021” – a $1.9 trillion emergency aid package to help America recover from the coronavirus pandemic has an extra perk for federal workers: Enhanced paid time off if your child is enrolled in a school that isn’t back to full-time, in-classroom instruction.
Critics call it a personal bailout for bureaucrats. It is funded through a new $570 million family leave account exclusively for federal workers.

Reminds me of communist/socialist regimes . The govt employees make out while everyone else gets crumbs. Like a a pyramid scheme. The top tier promises great things to the lower tiers as to get them on board . But the lower tiers never end up with the promised outcome.
Have a friend who was an electrical inspector for a county. Told me about a maybe 27 year old HVAC repair/maintenance guy for county schools— the schools closed for covid and the entire time the guy NEVER went in to work on any of the 20 or so schools HVAC/Heating etc. the entire time. Certainly many would need attention, central plant, room units,whatever. Nothing.
And said he was paid the entire time, never had to show up. Teachers didn’t either. Paid 9-10 month with zero work. Really impossible that ancillary personnel would not be able to work for what possible reason— zero transmission possiblilties. Suspect the Am.Fed. of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) was involved in the “contract”.
Bleeding us. So maybe we should stop paying. All of us. Just stop. Property tax-— yeah that’s how they link it- pay or get seized. Robin Hood could not have handled these apparatchiks.
The DC democrats goal is clear, create so much federal debt that the country can never recover and we will be told that the federal government must be remade. The Social Security administration will likely be the first to go.
This is crazy!!! Call your senators, get them to remove at least this part. Nuts!!!
I get pissed every time I see one of the Eargo commercials stating that all federal employees, retirees and their families are eligible for FREE hearing aids.
I could really use a pair but can’t afford them, but I am forced to buy them for government employees?
Can you say DISCRIMINATION, boys & girls????
