The Cruz family did nothing wrong including Ted telling everyone to stay home, then after 2 days at home, and he then only came back after he was caught, he then blamed his daughters and lied that he was always returning next day, except he went on Hannity and revealed he was going to be there for a week and was a mistake but t was just for the girls, but Heidi’s Democrat friends leaked the text messages and we learned he invited his college roommate, and then he went on a few podcasts to complain that the first lady of the Senate got pictured because she continued on to the beach while everyone else back home was shivering and knew her husband was facing outrage back home. Then when Heidi comes back she takes pictures of Ted handing out water bottles to compensate. In conclusion the guy who is running for President and a possible future first lady took Cuomo and Biden off the headlines did everything right and they should do the exact same thing again according to some people here.

You like many have failed to understand what I think is the major reason the GOP is laying down. They are so scared of the liberal media and what they can invent to sour voters they will do what they can to stay out of the limelight...even grovelling.
I worked within the Disaster Preparedness sections of military and civilian support for around 20 years. Senators have nothing to do with natural disasters except to walk around and let people cry to them. As soon as governor requests, and he has to, the president sends in FEMA, The Department of the Army sends in the Guard, and many, mainly contractors in the supply and civil engineering sections go into action under the control of FEMA with assistance from the local experts in the effected areas.
There is a whole network of people that get into a disaster, basically from FEMA and the state joint coordination outlined in the particular state constitution.

But no where within this system is there a request for a senator, congressman, or even the president himself. It would be better if they would stay out of the way. I’ve been involved with a couple of these and as long as they are left alone, trained personnel can do their job much easier without the politicians or in a few cases the locals getting in the way. It’s one of the reasons the NDR&R is written the way it is. When untrained people get into the loop, it creates problems.
And instead of Cruz telling people that he was not supposed to play in this, and is a private citizen with a way to protect his family, he should have. Instead he folded up like the proverbial lawn chair to untrue pressure applied by the lying media. I guess his guts and intelligence is still that of a politician and not a father and good man. You gave him two options. I gave him a third....the truth of what happened to be said and prove he was right as a father and husband. Guess that was erased as soon as he considered votes and embarrassed himself, his party, and his family. Gutless.
