Occurred to me: I could like driving a Saxon, Swede, Celt, Slav, Frank, Goth, Gaul, Asher, Dan, Ephraim, Gad, Issachar, Manasseh, Naphtali, Reuben, Simeon, Zebulun, or any other tribe/regional name in my mutt heritage.

Don’t understand why people think capitalists would name a product after something they allegedly despise. It’s a sign of respect, not ridicule.

How grateful I am we were raised during those times . We sure had fun and never worried about saying anything unless it was back-talking to any adult. And you could always count on another adult in the neighborhood putting you in your place if you were up to no good.

The people of the “Cherokee” tribe were given that name by the neighboring “Creek” tribe, and it meant “people with another language” in Creek. The Cherokee, called themselves “Tsalagi” (pronounced something like chee-sha-lay-key).

I understand all tribes were named by their neighbors, usually their enemies, and often with a derogatory name. This so-called chief needs to admit his history and quit virtue signaling. He has no more claim to the term "Cherokee" than Fauxohantas Elizabeth Warren.
