Gonna hate it when dudes demand playing “women’s” soccer. A real wokefest.

I dissagree, it had to do with them “ being ashamed” of the US. Colin made that very clear. As did many who disrespected the flad

As for "moving past" the protesting phase.

Yeah, what a cop-out!

When my wife comes home at 4 a.m., stinking drunk, I no longer utter a "peep" - because I'm now officially "past the protesting phase."

Instead, over breakfast (at noon), I glare at her ominously (unfortunately, she doesn't seem to actually notice).

Regards,

Apparently even 15 year old male soccer team was better than them. Can you imagine if full grown men compete against them?

Women’s USA soccer players make about $40,000 a year from their being a member by the US Government. Some original players from the U.S. national soccer team make around double the average. USWNT star Carli Lloyd was the best-paid female player, earning around $518,000. And the public pays the bill at round $62,955,641 in the budget. And the interesting thing is soccer as an Olympic sport for women started in 1996. 2019 was the first year they didn’t lose money on it. So much for equal pay as it appears the men’s teams have been supporting the women teams for 22 of the last 25 years.

Why do basketball and football teams kneel during the National Anthem and disrespect the National Anthem, the American Flag and America? It cannot be systemic racism in that basketball and football teams in college and pro are over represented by black athletes. It cannot be in college or other organizations where affirmative action causes blacks to have advantages in admissions, hiring and promotions. Why do they have to disrespect during the Anthem and make everything political. If they want to protest do it earlier or later. Fans should disrespect the players and turn their backs on them when they kneel.

“Past the protesting phase.” Oh, they’ll still be kneeling; it’s just that they’ll be doing it in another place and in front of other people.

US Soccer Federation is a non-profit organization...That means tax benefits...US Soccer Federation is not some government organization...

As they’re wearing blm jackets they’re still protesting.

A good point...I did see the game on Sunday against Brazil...US Coaches were wearing BLM jackets...I just found that annoying...How about trying to show some political neutrality?

I enjoy watching Soccer, usually the Premier League and especially World Cup play, and I also enjoy watching our national women’s team, they’re very good. However, their protests are boring, trite, and irksome. They come off as little more than an opportunistic clique of insecure privileged mean girls seeking attention. Apparently the team’s record of very significant athletic accomplishments fails to satisfy their personal thirst for public adoration.

A very good description of their actions...

Canada's women's team took a knee during playing of national anthem before the game with Argentina on Sunday...They also wore BLM shirts...They want some attention also...

By the way, I do watch soccer regularly also...

“US Soccer Federation is not some government organization...”

The biggest problem in recent years with the women’s soccer besides their salary problems, was their backing of BLM which they made stand out at the Olympics. While competing for the Olympics, they are funded, in addition, these National Olympic Committees, most countries the funding comes from their government, corporate sponsorship and personal fundraising to include the US. So the feds may not be funding the different cups, but they are in the Olympic funding. And same players apply so they are being sponsored by the feds.

Economic decision. The team was losing fans and interest. The Olympics are around the corner. Dissing the US is a loser financially. They need to jettison the BLM jackets. And Trump is no longer in the WH. Politically, the Dems don’t want it. They pulled the plug.

Interesting points...Economics...I do agree...US Soccer Federation could have convinced the players to stop kneeling during national anthem...Stating that they made their "points"...But, the Federation needs to earn money...

I remember NBA Commissioner Adam Silver ordering Mark Cuban to play national anthem...A similar situation...

I remember some USWNT players stating that they will not visit White House...It was after the team won the World Cup by beating Netherlands...I don't think the visit ever took place...In any case, I think President Trump was too busy...He just forgot about arranging the team visit...No big deal...I am very certain that no player on USWNT would refuse to see Joe Biden in the White House...It is very predictable...

Another example of piss-poor writing by a conservative journalist.

What the hell is the “sport” that this team represented? I have no idea what “USNWT” stands for. Could be the US National Weightlifters Team” for all I know.

This kind of amateurish writing has got to stop if conservative articles/writers are to be taken seriously.
