Boil your water people! Oh, wait. How can you do that without power?
It’s not the mains so much as the 18 inch deep, 1 inch pipes that feed the manifolds to homes and commercial properties
And Free Republic is based in California. Your point?
Is that you, Irish Bob O'Rourke?
>>Austin went woke and their pipes broke.<<
Hey..not bad. Simple, yet poignant! lol
There’s probably internet feeds of the police/fire scanners you can check. If you’re not in this, might not be a good idea to belittle it.
with the population that has moved into Austin the last few years, not sure they will even notice if they can’t take showers.
We had a large wood stove with a flue that came out of the back so the top was flat. If we lost power we would not only have heat we would be able to cook. But we didn’t live in Austin.
Yeah. I wasn’t meaning to be flip about it. I know the original poster was really concerned. Those of us in America’s Icebox are pretty much used to it.
“Many of us live in places where this is a pretty common event. You’ll be all right. Don’t let the media scare you. As always, they know fear gets ratings and sells papers.”
True, don’t let the MEDIA scare you, but we better darn well be scared of the leftist monsters who orchestrate all this chaos as a lead up to their characteristic murder of tens of millions, which is most certainly coming here.
I bet transplants from CA don’t know what a main shut off is.
“Honestly, you’ll be okay.”
You are truly peddling a message of comfort to everyone. I suppose you have been “through it all”, and will bless us with your hard earned wisdom. Have you ever been through a Communist rampage where tens of millions are murdered? It’s lovely that you know how survive a loss of power and water, we are all seriously impressed, but that is NOT what this all about! Don’t you get it? These crises are being Engineered and planned by our criminal leftist masters. So much more is coming. Don’t you get it? Stop trying to tell everyone to just calm down. This is the time to get riled up.
Thank you for your input.
Or where it is at least.
I vaguely remember that a 24 inch main broke someplace in texas a while back.
The farther outside of Austin, people have private water wells and don’t bury the pipes very deep.
We have a garage sink. It is covered with blankets and a heat lamp. It still froze. Waiting for the big thaw to see what’s what.
Are you in Texas right now, or not? Your posts on this thread seem a bit confusing on that point.
DFW area.
Two days without water and people start to die... Kids thirsty? Open a can of vegetables and drain the water off for them to drink.
Anyone living in areas that got under around 12 degrees should probably be filling their bathtubs now just in case. Especially if heat/power went off for awhile. That’s millions of people.
