They were lousy candidates. They didn’t have a message and they avoided the retail politics that people demand. No meet and greets. No hand shaking. Ads were all Karl Rove crap
They were not only terrible candidates they waffled back and forth on their support for Trump. The base saw that and didn’t trust them.
