Rolling blackouts in the Midwest

Plenty of 100 year old houses and old mobile homes too. Wind chill has been below zero for a week. 160+ water mains have broken in St Louis. They are telling everyone in the cities to try not to use the oven, turn the thermostat down a little etc.

We have both extremes. 10 years ago we had a heat wave two years in a row with 110 degree temps and high humidity for weeks. People were spending their days in their root cellar and storm shelters if they had them because a/c wasn’t cutting it.

No loss of electric though unless it’s physical damage with is pretty much localized. Crazy wind knocking over trees or the occasional ice storm tearing lines down from the weight of the ice build up or large tree limbs falling on the wires because they break under the strain.

The weather is insane here in the Ozarks. Calling for mid 50s in a few days.
