The Roman senate is remembered, but only Brutus, personally.
Nobody remembers the people who collapsed an institution, or an empire. Rightly so. They are failures.
Now, Hitler, he was memorable even in defeat. Stalin, Mao ... maybe only for a relatively short time, a few centuries, but memorable in the present era. I believe that our government is capable of even greater atrocity. it is just waiting for the right time and a suitable excuse. THAT will go down in history. This failure? A fart in a hurricane.
I disagree, at least as an American. For the world, no. They wouldn’t care.
I agree with your historic comparisons, but I was speaking of American history and how this will be remembered in our nation. This is the first time impeachment has been used completely, with absolutely zero basis in reality or fact, with no evidence of any type of illegality or lawbreaking, as a simple political tool of prosecution against a sitting President.
That, coupled with this blatant and outright fraud of an election, are two things that are a harbinger of dissolution for our nation.
That may not happen next year or even in forty years, but it is the seed of what is coming unless some way is found to turn this around.
Very likely, our debt and economic factors will do us as a nation in first, but this is part and parcel of that.
