Her two bedroom flat is about $1500 per month because it is located on the 3rd floor of a 4 floor building without an elevator. Try to find a BROOM CLOSET for that money in central Manhattan within easy walking distance of, say, Times Square which would be the NY equivalent.
It is a far more civilized city than New York anyway you slice it. And, as an added bonus, the taxi drivers speak better English.
A tsunami is antilog to the earthquake that produced it.
Heh, that’s a good one.
It's a bit more involved than that; it is logarithmic, but the base is somewhat ambiguous. The issue is whether the value one is taking the logarithm of is the maximum amplitude measured by seismographs, or the total energy released which of course must be estimated by more involved means and takes into account the depth of the fault failure and the area (or perhaps) volume over which the failure extended.
IIRC, it would be 1/1,000 the magnitude. (each rise of 1 level of magnitude is 32 x above the lower one, and 32x32=1,000)
Man Made Global Warming.
Read somewhere that they had a 30 foot wall that was to prevent what happened. What was not apparent until later was that the wall had fallen 10 feet down due to the earthquake. From what I can see they needed that 10 feet.
I think it may need a little more time. About 20,000 years should do it.
Oh? I guess Fukushima's reactors never quite flooded?
I bet you are all in for abortion because once in a while, a 13 year old girl gets raped.
How much money are you willing to lose on that bet?
Crescent City, CA, Good Friday 1964. Fatalities because people didn't believe the warnings from the Great Alaskan 'quake.
You are just proving my point - by offering rare exceptions to the general rule.
I have been watching shows on the NHK or NHKWJ channel on Direct TV 322 and have learned so much about Japan I never knew. It’s a very interesting country. Recently they had a documentary about the tsunami and showed some rebuilding of the areas affected. I would like to visit Japan some day.
And you are spinning out of smoke and vapor your fantasy of my views on abortion.
I have facts, admittedly, only the few that came immediately to mind, to make the point that your assertion that all tsunami warnings “never quite seem to pan out” simply isn’t true.
You have NOTHING on which to base your libel of my beliefs.
I was watching dutchsinse a couple of days ago..rumble or bitchute. He was expecting this.
We all know that 99% of abortions are done for "convenience" but you will have those who point to the one 13-year-old girl getting raped to justify abortion for all. You area obviously not one of them so sorry to cast the aspersion - though I really just wanted to make the analogy.
Same here with the tsunamis. It is almost a weekly Free Republic ritual to hear about some tsunami warning somewhere in the world. Yet so far, I have had two examples of actual tsunamis (over the past century) pointed out to me to justify the existence of hundreds of tsunami warnings that never actually came to be. Maybe there were a few more if somebody wants to go digging on the internet for them. And I'm not talking about tsunamis that wash up a few extra crabs on the beach but those that cause devastation.
Of course, we shall have our tsunami warning that come to nothing just as we have meteorologists excitedly pointing at possible East Coast snowstorms 20-25 times a year that might actually pan out once or twice. We had two pretty good ones this year but so far, about 15 missed us (with a few on the way for next week - we shall see)
2011 too.
OK. Thanks for the clarification. Peace?
Peace.
Odd how we don't hear updates on that situation....
