It appears that Bill Cassidy did not vote with the Dems to allow witnesses, yet he voted with them to impeach. He vowed to hear all the evidence and do so with an open mind. Then the SHTF back in Louisiana, and now he doesn’t want to hear any evidence offered by witnesses. The two by four thrown from Louisiana voters that hit him upside his head must have gotten his attention. Now we probably know how he is going to vote when it really counts—guilty or not guilty. He may not be the highest card in the deck but he knows when he screwed up big time.
Cassidy is a weird bird. He’s all over the place and HUGELY inconsistent to the point that I wonder if he’s suffering from some cognitive decline issues.
I’m sure that the people in Louisiana gave him an earful. Trump won by a pretty wide margin in Louisiana.
Senator Cassidy did vote "yes" on the question of whether Senate could try a former president...That is not same as voting to convict Mr. Trump...
I wish that Senator Cassidy voted "no" on that question...But, he gave no indication that he will vote to convict...That's the most important question...Not the procedural vote about trying a former president...Senator explained that he was not happy with Trump lawyers on Day one...I don't think he was the only person who complained about the poor performance by the Trump defense on Day one of the trial...
“He may not be the highest card in the deck but he knows when he screwed up big time.”
If Cassidy has to screw up that big to figure out what his voters want, he needs to be Primaried.
