Closing arguments at former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial were expected to get underway Saturday morning — with each side granted two hours to make their final case to the US Senate before an expected vote on the verdict later in the day.
But Day 5 started instead with House impeachment manager Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) asking to subpoena records and call a witness sparking fierce debate with Trump defense lawyer Michael van der Venn.

Raskin said one of Trump’s legal team quit/was no longer on board or something to that effect? I heard earlier today that the legal team was fighting. I watched and didn’t see Shoen at the table. Does anyone know who on the legal team quit and why?

Trump lawyers admitted that what Congresswoman stated was true...There is no way that President Trump would ever let his lawyers state that he said something that he never said...
I do not believe that Mr. Trump was willing to admit to saying something that he never said...Just to get the trial finished today...

Read the transcript. Trumps lawyer said specifically that Raskin deliberately misstated the stipulation. They merely stipulated at she said that what she heard NOT that it was true.
