Chinese state TV included dancers in blackface portraying Africans in a holiday gala for the second time in three years, prompting criticism online, as Asia welcomed the Year of the Ox with muted festivities amid travel curbs to contain renewed coronavirus outbreaks.
The “African Song and Dance” performance Thursday came at start of the Spring Festival Gala, one of the world’s most-watched TV programs. It included Chinese dancers in African-style costumes and dark face makeup beating drums.
The five-hour annual program, which state TV has said in the past is seen by as many as 800 million viewers, also included tributes to nurses, doctors and others who fought the coronavirus pandemic that began in central China in late 2019.

China makes cosmetics so black people can 'lighten' their skin (to make white face) and they produce wigs and chemicals so blacks can make their hair look like white people's hair (white face). So maybe they don't get the double standard.
From the very beginning, the whole blackface controversy was a manufactured one. It was the typical hawk up up a loogie in your face and tell you it’s raining maneuver by the Amish. They were testing the waters to see how far they could get with their passive aggressive con.
We’ve graduated from that to persecuting cops for keeping violent black drug felons prone to prevent them from choking on their own puke while overdosing. Blacks are now an aristocratic race subject to a more lenient set of laws, as befitting their lofty legal status in American society. In time, expect reparations payments to be an annual line item on tax returns. It’s not enough that we fund their dysfunction obliquely through race quota set-asides, the welfare state and revolving door justice. Our groveling submission must be made explicit not just through place name changes and statuary removals - it must be stamped on every official document, including our tax forms.
In time, expect murder rates to plunge as killings by blacks are redefined as exercises of the American version of samurai privilege, extended to the entire black community. This was basically the right a samurai had to hack up (including to death), on the spot anyone who displayed insufficient respect for his elevated status in society. Several unfortunate English merchants fell victim to this custom during the Victorian era. We have turned into a bizarro version of feudal-era Japan, with incidents like the following becoming routine occurrences, and blacks in the the role of the samurai.
