(Reuters) - New Mexico officials are asking the Biden administration to resolve confusion in the state’s oil and gas industry over a 60-day pause on allowing state-level staff to issue approvals for new federal lands drilling.

In a letter dated Feb. 9 but seen by Reuters on Wednesday, Sarah Cottrell Propst, secretary of New Mexico’s Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department, asked the Department of Interior to clarify how right-of-way permits fit into the policy.

The order, issued Jan. 20, stripped Interior agencies and bureaus of their authority to issue new drilling leases or permits while it reviews the federal minerals leasing program as part of a broader agenda to fight climate change. The order did not limit existing operations and did not extend to permits necessary to preserve health and safety.

“There is confusion in the field regarding which approvals fall within these categories,” Cottrell Propst said in the letter, adding that companies had reported “many examples of approvals not moving forward.”

The election was stolen. Smart voting had nothing to do with it.

Smart vote counting did, though.

New Mexico did NOT vote for Biden. The voter fraud and Dominion machines fixed it for the demented, perverted SOB. Same with AZ, MI, PA, GA, NV and likely others.

Confusion? He made the idiot governor a bunch of promises, and pretended he might put her in his cabinet. She put a draconian lockdown on the state, supported Biden massively. And now he doesn’t need NM anymore.

Good job MLG. You idiot.

Screwed the state for nothing.

Confusion? What part of “no new drilling” and “end all fossil fuels” is confusing?

F*ck New Mexico. They voted for CornPop live with the consequences. Liberals are such selfish, hypocritical sh*theads. Think they have all the answers and can dance between raindrops. That is, until the realities of their decisions smack them in the face. Then they throw temper tantrums for someone else to fix it.

Like so many other states, hard working normal folks in New Mexico are going to pay the price for the problems brought on by the liberals and illegals in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Taos.

That may be true. But someone in that state government knew what was going on.

If I’m not mistaken the Democrat Governor was too fond of President Trump. Didn’t she deny his request for troops on the border then bitched that she needed money to take care of all the illegals that were pouring over the states border?

Look at the other leftist fools who run/ruin New Mexico. Their Secy of State and/or Att. Gen. is a lefty. One of the Castro brothers is from there. I understand that Albuquerque is the crime capital of the state. Drug use is rampant as is smuggling.
What else could go wrong? Enter Pres. BiteMe and his insane environmental policies and officials.

How do you say “Adios New Mexico” in Chinese/Russian/Arabic?

I’m tired of comments like yours.
There are many MAGA patriots in
the state that DID NOT VOTE FOR
BIDEN. This state, like many
others, have major metropolitan
areas that vote Democrat, where
rural counties vote red. Please
don’t try to lump us altogether.

I think there are a lot of conservatives, who are sort of fed up.

Sort of understandable.

Don’t over react. Lots of time to get our spirits back, working together.
