Medical Trial: Cheap Asthma Inhalers 90% Reduction in Severe Covid Symptoms
Watts Up With That? ^ | 2-10-2021 | Eric Worrall

Queensland University and Oxford University Medical researchers investigating why asthma sufferers were “under-represented” in severe Covid cases have completed a clinical trial of Budesonide asthma inhalers. According to researchers the randomised trial was stopped early, because the results were so remarkable, the researchers did not believe it ethical to deny treatment to placebo patients.

Over-the-counter inhalers suppress severe COVID symptoms, trial finds

By Stuart Layt February 10, 2021 — 11.18am

QUT associate professor Dan Nicolau, one of the lead researchers on the trial at the University of Oxford, said the results showed the method was extremely effective at preventing severe COVID-19 symptoms.

“When we first began the trial back in March [2020], we were hoping for 50 per cent reduction [in risk of developing serious symptoms], which itself would have been very high,” he said.

“We got 90 per cent, which even with only a few hundred people is off the charts.

“And it’s not just the overall result – their temperatures are less, they get less fever, and they recover faster.”

Professor Nicolau said they realised in the early stages of the pandemic that people with asthma were under-represented in severe and fatal cases of COVID-19.

The randomised trial ended up looking at 146 patients, who were given regular doses of either corticosteroid budesonide via an inhaler, or a placebo.

If other teams confirm this finding, it is a remarkable breakthrough. And confirmation should be very straightforward, given the widespread availability of this inhaler.

[[And hcq causes heart attacks.]]

I’m betting it hasn’t caused nearly as many deaths as the vaccines likely have caused- possibly- but funnily enough, fauci and ilk push the far deadlier vaccine while wanting to ban HCQ- Heck even over the coutner aspirin is far far deadlier than HCQ ever thought of being

“...I’m obsessively interested in affordable prophylactics for the CCP Virus.”

Vitamin C, chelated zinc, quercetin, oil of oregano. Simply and highly effective for all viruses.

My friend called me today upset because his mothers doctor told her she had to have a moderna covid shot, to the point where she was going to fly to another city to get it, he has tried to explain to her that there are great treatments, compared to a year ago, and more every day. as well as more choices.

I asked him if his mother knew anyone who had gotten really sick or died and he thinks not.

my mother told me the other day she needs it too, which surprised me, but then again she listened to some people from ‘Windows’ who said her computer told them she needed to pay them money to cure its virus (:

Ivermectin.

Get it at Tractor Supply in the horse aisle if your doctor won't prescribe it.

The inhaled steroid Budesonide is being hailed by one West Texas doctor, Richard Bartlett, as the 'silver bullet' for COVID-19. Midland Memorial Hospital seems to disagree with him, telling us Tuesday that there is no such thing a 'silver bullet' for the virus. But Bartlett’s patients credit the treatment for saving their life. He has treated well over a dozen patients and has had a 100% success rate. Even with patients who have preexisting conditions.

“...people with asthma were under-represented in severe and fatal cases of COVID-19.”

AND “...people with LUPUS were under-represented in severe and fatal cases of COVID-19.”

AND “...people with onchocerciasis, helminthiases, and scabies were under-represented in severe and fatal cases of COVID-19.”

It’s been a YEAR and they are just noticing these correlations?

Steroids are a be of the few things that actually have broad support in the literature and seem to work well. Anyone hospitalized is started on IV or oral steroids. So far it is not being used as much in mild symptoms but an inhaled form might changed that. I am also excited to see the studies on regeneron and bamlan but they are not currently for use on inpatients. They seem to be the real deal for people with early disease who are at high risk

And here:

If you’re on other meds make sure there aren’t interaction issues. In particular, Tacrolimus and Ivermectin don’t play well together.

From early on, the EVMS COVID Protocol (and others) have said that this is a "Steroid Responsive Disease," but have recommended Methylprednisolone and other steroids in the late states of the disease.

EVMS currently still states "Not recommended: Systemic or inhaled corticosteroids (budesonide). In the early symptomatic (viral replicative phase), corticosteroids may increase viral replication and disease severity. An OpenSAFELY analysis in patients with COVID-19 demonstrated a higher risk of death in COPD and asthmatic patients using high dose inhaled corticosteroids (ICS). The role of ICS in the pulmonary phase is unclear as patients require systemic corticosteroids to dampen the cytokine storm, with ICS having little systemic effects."

I wonder how this Queensland University and Oxford University Medical will square with what Dr. Marik and others have been saying about ICS.

Also, another from the past: Budesonide (Pulmicort) treatment for COVID, July 5, 2020.

ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - A West Texas Doctor claims he's found the "silver bullet" for COVID-19, but the treatment is not currently approved by the FDA.

Dr. Richard Bartlett works at various clinics around West Texas, and says he's found a successful treatment for the coronavirus. "The treatment plan is inhaled, generic budesonide," Bartlett said. "Using some generic antibiotics to protect from a secondary bacterial infection. Using zinc, which interferes with virus replication. It's common sense. It's intuitive."

Budesonide is a steroid, that can be inhaled directly to the lungs using a nebulizer. The drug has been used for decades to treat asthma and is approved by the FDA. However using it to treat COVID-19 is not.

"I am not aware of any doctors anywhere that are using this specifically for COVID-19, yet," Bartlett said. Bartlett said he treats people as soon as they show symptoms.

"Early treatment is better with this disease," he said. "And I'm having a 100% survival rate. I don't even know how many I've treated...dozens. I have 14 that I'm treating right now."

That would be a unicorn.

There is no such creature.
