America had bird and swine flu along with a helping of Ebola (under Bush and Obunghole) and America really didn’t blink as those in thier own right were very deadly. I am just keeping things real.
The thing is, the more deadly a disease is, the less transmissible it generally is.
We have bird flus here, too, but our cultural practices don’t really enable them to jump to humans. And we watch the pigs, since they are a known incubator for influenza viruses to become human pathogens.
The only Ebola and Marburg cases in the US were imported, and never presented a threat to the population.
