Three countries are due to reach Mars in the next two weeks
The Verge ^ | 5/2/21 | Joey Roulette

A small fleet of spacecraft from the United Arab Emirates, China, and the United States will reach Mars this month after launching from Earth last year. The march to the Red Planet marks a marathon of firsts: it’s the UAE’s first foray into deep space, China’s first independent attempt to land on Mars, and NASA’s first shot at deploying a Martian helicopter.

The rare convoy of Mars-bound spacecraft launched off Earth in a slim, roughly two-month window last summer when Earth and Mars lined up just right in their orbits around the Sun. This planetary alignment only happens once every two years, and three countries took advantage of it in 2020, just as outer space reemerged as a playground for scientific discovery and displays of national power.

“These governments do these missions for the sake of exploration,” Bill Nye, CEO of the Planetary Society (and famously, The Science Guy), told The Verge. “As we like to say, there is no business case for exploring the Martian regolith.” "“It leads to this extraordinary workforce development in these countries, and this national pride and sense of community that’s priceless”"

“However, it leads to this extraordinary workforce development in these countries, and this national pride and sense of community that’s priceless,” he said.

First in line to reach Mars this month is the Emirati Hope orbiter. ....

In space, there are ways of wirelessly transmitting the electricity from unfiltered solar collectors down to earth. The hell that doesn't have business applications. Even fake orange juice from the moon missions had business applications. What do those dumb science guys know about business.

two things I see, one is that SpaceX showed the world that NASA was and is just a money pit for the elite.

Second thought is that is the UAE lands first then the Muslims shall claim MARS as their own planet.

Planet wars are going to become very real very quickly.

and I think Elon has now had his ass kicked by the “friendly Democrats, so he is going to continue to move offshore and run his launch platforms from international waters. Screw the FAA.

Oh and Elon now pretty much has bankrolled Bitcoin, and that means he controls the worlds nost expensive digital currency.

Screw the Global FED.

I’ve seen a LOT of articles and videos about thins seen on mars by various robots. I honestly would not be surprised at all to discover we have already found proof of civilization once existing there. I would also not be “totally” surprised to find out it still does in one form or another.

One weird picture is one thing, but I’ve seen way too many. And I’m not talking about the ones where people are just seeing a rock similarly shaped to something we’re familiar with. It goes much deeper and farther than that.

We need to put Americans on the surface, to clean it unconditionally for the US. We likewise need to re-stake our claim in the moon, since others seem to be stepping in our absence.

Tell me again why we don't need a Space Force?

Terraforming probably won’t work there, due to the lack of a strong magnetic field. Any residents will have to live in sealed structures or when outside in space suits.

Death on Mars: The Discovery of a Planetary Nuclear Massacre
by John E. Brandenburg PhD

blurb:
New proof of a nuclear catastrophe on Mars! In an epic story of discovery, strong evidence is presented for a dead civilization on Mars and the shocking reason for its demise: an ancient planetary-scale nuclear massacre leaving isotopic traces of vast explosions that endure to our present age. The story told by a wide range of Mars data is now clear.

Mars was once Earth-like in climate, with an ocean and rivers, and for a long period became home to both plant and animal life, including a humanoid civilization. Then, for unfathomable reasons, a massive thermo-nuclear explosion ravaged the centers of the Martian civilization and destroyed the biosphere of the planet.

But the story does not end there.

I have read much of the Hoagland/Bara literature.

I admit that I am not a “visual” person, so my mind does not create patterns from anything that is not _super_ clear.

So—I have put these in the “I have no clue” file....time will tell.

I honestly would not be surprised if that turned out to be true.

I have a rather “odd” hypothesis about our universe based on my Christian beliefs and the teaching of the bible. The best way to explain it is through a brief prelude followed by an analogy.

The bible says we are imagers (in the image) of God in the Garden of Eden, which was to be God’s abode on planet earth. It also says that Jesus is God or, as He says, if we have seen Him, we have seen God. So, “as far as we humans on earth are concerned, Jesus is god.

So, the analogy:

Wal mart has more stores than many larger companies have employees. Every store has a store manager and department managers, as well as employees. As far as the employees of that store are concerned, the manager is the CEO of walmart.

One of those stores is called Earth, and the manager is called Jesus.

I’m still looking, but I’ve not found a scripture to kill that idea. This is based on the original texts and languages as opposed to what is in the english translations. Often “the heavens” really only means “the sky”, and other times it means Gods abode. Think of it as “corporate headquarters”. And “the earth” really means “the surface of the earth”. It was washed clean before genesis 1:3, and it will be scorched with fire before the new Jerusalem comes down.

A question: How many times was the surface wiped clean in the past, and then re-created? Could there be many iterations, with evidence of each resting below us to be discovered? Could this explain the Cambrian explosion, the extinction of the dinosaurs, etc.?

I dunno. It’s just an hypothesis. But I DO believe the message in the bible about our world, the spiritual realm, is a heck of a lot more fascinating than the tiny “angels and shepherds” idea in most people’s minds.

So why not Mars? An infinitely more worlds throughout the universe? And does this weaken the message about Christ in any way, if it acknowledges his grace and all that it implies?
