Fossilized crap is called coprolite and is just as distinctive as when in was deposited;

Years ago I bought some dinosaur coprolite while in Arizona for my kids. They enjoyed playing with it more than with regular rocks. Poop millions of years old can be fun; can't be said about fresh poop.
